Great food ! Waitress was very good .

This place reminds me if a 1950s diner. The staff here is excellent. 3 different girls as well as their manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was ok. The food was hot and fresh. Tbe cereal custard was sweet and cool. I've never had anything like it. I am sure this place will be added to your list of favorites.

The manager, Collette is such a good face for the business. She greets familiar return customers, remembers their favorites and makes you feel special. And then there is the wonderful burgers, crispy fries, root beer float, and flavors of the day.

The Burger’s are delicious. However the price is extremely too high for a burger with lettuce that was not crunchy and fresh. The tomato was also soft and warm. I like my veggies crisps. The homemade lemonade was refreshing.

The service was great. The manager helped. me so much. I was the person with the car that would not start. Thank again.

Great food, great service, good seating and kids menu options. The kids meals are even served in cute little cardboard classic cars and jukebox oldies play in the restaurant. There is a fairly cute atmosphere with old style seating a d murals on the wall, too.

Hamburger was tiny dry and without flavor. Moose was good. Prices high for What you get. Very noisy

The Manager on MLK is the best and the service is great

Screwed up order still charged me full price yet gave me mini sizes and didn't offer discount ...not likely to go back

The very small parking area can leave it difficult for patrons to get in and out. The cleanliness could use a bit of work. But the food is top notch! Service is acceptable but not sensational, but no problem with it. All in all, a great place for a quick bite assuming you don't get blocked in to your parking spot.

Orangeade!!!! Yes. Please. Most of the servers were really nice and kind and the food was good, however, one of the servers was apparently not getting along with another server over a section and we all could feel it. Other than her smart remarks everytime the young lady walked by everything was ok. She was the one who rung us up in the end and was not as pleasant as everyone else. All in all it was a decent visit. Will still go again.

Food and even the drinks weren't good. We use to visit this place frequently and it had been quite a few months. We may try the one in James City but not this one again. Husband had cheeseburger and onion ringsHe said it was nasty tasty and onion rings were way overcoated you couldn't taste the onion. Wife had chopped steak plate. It was extremely greasy and not edible. Sourdogh toast very thin and not good either. Tea and soda both had bad after taste. Spoke to Operator about drinks, he didn't see a problem with them. Waitress checked us out husband told her nothing was good but french fries. She said she didn't cook it. We wouldn't recommend it unless you only want fries🤣

The food at this location is disgusting .I waited too long and when the food arrived the fries were disgusting , cold and greasy .. the shrimp were a deep dark brown and over cooked.The waitress replaced the shrimp , not the entire plate , and the second batch was less over crisp , but the same off color .My last visit to this location , my hamburger was served in a half inch of grease in the bottom of the tray Corporate management needs to get to this location and correct the problems .

Ordered chop steak plate, gravy was Luke warm on my Luke warm fries, and to much grease in meat. Gave it a 2 because my wife liked her cheese steak sandwich.

I love this restaurant overall. Food and atmosphere is the classic diner feeling. Just this diner in particular was not the best. My partner and I waited for over 30 minutes for our food in which the waitress apologized in advance for the wait. There was also another waitress in there who I believe was tasked with cooking the food who was very unprofessional and using vulgar language in the presence of waiting customers and children. After about 45 minutes of still waiting on food with no progress, my partner and I decided to leave since the wait was unreasonable and the waitress was making the atmosphere uncomfortable as well as throwing stuff at other servers and the other cook. We just took our drink and left. I understand people have off days but we was not impressed and ended up going to another HWY 55 a few miles down the road.

They just don't know what CRUNCHY French fries are. : ( Everything else is great.

The grilled chicken sandwich had strips of chicken rather than one piece. I could not pick it up and eat it like a sandwich. Other than that it was good and the service was good.

Hwy 55 is a place to get a quick bite. I got the Li'l Cheeseburger with pepper jack and tots. My burger came out a couple of minutes before my tots, but when the tots came out they were hot and worth the wait. Table service and carry out are both available. The server was friendly and did a nice job. My server said that she would have my check at the register when I was ready. The only reason I couldn't give a rating of 5 is that when I was paying my bill I wanted to purchase an ice cream cone to go and was told that they didn't have any ice cream. I was shocked because they have ice cream and milkshakes on their menu.

It's okay to eat at, I like the James City one better than New Bern. I feel it's cleaner. But this one has good service and food, fast at getting it out to you and attentive. I would recommend.

Every Hwy. 55 I have ever eaten at have always had good food. This time the the people were not very nice like they didn't want to be there. The Andy's special burger was not good this is the first time that I haven't got good food from any of the different Hwy 55s I've been to.

It's a nice hole in the wall diner style restaurant with American food. The staff is nice and they do work hard. Don't forget to tip the waitresses, they do deserve it.

Here are the inedible onions rings they gave me in New Bern..they must have gotten burnt because the waitress was too busy flirting with some guy are the counter

The service was great .the srimp poor boy was very tasty .I loved the sauce.i had a pizza stake.very good would like to see it all the time. I'm not sure what my server was very nice and helped us order . very prompt and checked on us to make sure everything was up to par.

First time at Hwy55. So, it's an okay small place to get carryout but would skip dine-in; as there's too many confused workers - do you go to a table first, do you order first then get a table + crowded area around pickup counter. Also...avoid the men's restroom, if you can, otherwise enter at your own risk of your shoes sticking to the floor around the toilet (seriously guys!!) On second thought, having seen the condition of the restroom - head to a different place to eat! We definitely will!

Service was great and the burger was delicious as always. The experience made us feel like we were living in a normal world again. Couldn't have been happy with our DINE IN experience.

Way over priced... Place was dirty but the employees were great. I guess the owner needs to rethink how they are running the business

We ordered 2 shakes and it took 45 minutes for them. Also we ordered two waters and one of them came out pink because of fruit punch and so we are wondering where the fruit punch came from. The milkshakes are watered down and the brownies are terrible. hopefully this helped.
